  • Hole 1 – Road to Rio

    DETAILS

    A dogleg right Par 5 to get you started. Hit your drive left of the large oak on the right side of the fairway or if you are daring, challenge the hole with a drive over it and be rewarded with a chance to hit the green in two. If you avoid the oaks, you could be rewarded with a good score to start your day.

  • Hole 2 – Showboat

    DETAILS

    A mid-length Par 3 to a green with three distinct areas landing areas. The shot from the tee is through a grove of oaks which will should help to narrow your focus.

  • Hole 3 – So Big

    DETAILS

    A downhill dogleg right which should be played down the left side of the fairway to allow a clear shot to the green. If you like to hit off a level lie check your distance to the end of the end of the fairway before hitting your drive. Remember on the approach shot that the downhill will make the hole play a little shorter.

  • Hole 4 – Danger Forward

    DETAILS

    The longest Par 4 on the course and the number one handicap hole. If you can hit a draw, now is the time to do it as the hole doglegs to the left and any long drive not hit to the left side of the fairway is bound to end up in the rough.

  • Hole 5 – The Command

    DETAILS

    A slight dogleg right hole with a downhill drive and uphill approach to a shallow green.

  • Hole 6 – The Iron Mistress

    DETAILS

    An uphill Par 4 that plays much longer than the distance. The hole plays uphill all the way. Do your best to keep the ball below the hole on the green as it slopes back to front and can be very quick.

  • Hole 7 – Burma Road

    DETAILS

    A downhill Par 3 which can be affected greatly by the wind. Balls hit short right have resulted in very few pars.

  • Hole 8 – Giant

    DETAILS

    A downhill dogleg right Par 5. The easiest hole on the Front 9. Hit a good drive and go for the green in two. The hole plays 10 – 15 yards shorter due to the change in elevation.

  • Hole 9 – Calamity Jane

    DETAILS

    A short downhill dogleg left Par 4. Hit a drive into the fairway far enough down the fairway to have a clear shot at the green. Don’t let the lake distract you on the approach shot. The green is only a short distance away.

  • Hole 10 – White Heat

    DETAILS

    A downhill dogleg left Par 4 with a meandering creek along the left side of the fairway. Keep your ball out of the creek and you will have short iron to an uphill green.

  • Hole 11 – National Velvet

    DETAILS

    A straight away Par 4 with a slightly uphill green. Keep your drive out of the two fairway bunkers and you should walk away with a good score. The structure to the right of the tee was the horse stable in the movie “National Velvet.”

  • Hole 12 – Carousel

    DETAILS

    A short downhill Par 3 surrounded by bunkers. Hit your tee shot on to the green and you will be rewarded. If you hit your tee shot into one of the bunkers, your skills will be tested in trying to save par.

  • Hole 13 – Bright Leaf

    DETAILS

    A short slightly uphill Par 4 rated the easiest hole on the course. Favor the left side of the green as it slopes left to right.

  • Hole 14 – Good Earth

    DETAILS

    A long uphill Par 3 that plays predominantly in to the wind. Take an extra club and aim for the center of the green. A par is good score as you start playing back toward the club house.

  • Hole 15 – Robin Hood

    A straight away Par 5 with oak trees lining the fairway for the first two of the tee shot.

  • Hole 17 – Stalag 17

    DETAILS

    A dogleg left hole with a few different ways to be played. Play a shorter shot to the top of the hill and leave yourself a flat lie or hit the driver as far as possible and take the chance of ending up on the downhill or in the rough. If you draw your drive, you will be rewarded with a short approach to the green and a great scoring opportunity.

  • Hole 18 – The Miracle

    DETAILS

    A slight dogleg to the right from the back tees. A great “risk reward” hole to finish your round. The decision to go for the green on your second shot that has water in front and along the right side of the green. The green is long from the front to the back with possibly a three club difference for a front flag position to a back one.
