Timothy Galvan, Director of Instruction

Timothy Galvan has been playing golf for over 30 years. He attended and graduated Hawaii Pacific University on a golf scholarship in 2009. While there, he took on a leadership role as the Head Coach for the University’s men’s team. While attending school Timothy worked for the K’oalau Golf Course as an Assistant Professional. He gained experience in course management and all things operations; K’oalau is also where he began his teaching career. Timothy turned professional after graduating college in 2009 and has competed on tours all over the world. In 2015 Timothy shifted his focus to player development and private coaching. He has focused on cultivating a high-end clientele base and turning weekend golfers into confident athletes. He helps people take their love for golf and become the best golfer that they can be. Timothy is excited to be a part of the Calabasas Country Club team as their Director of Golf Instruction. He brings with him over a decade of experience and a lifetime of passion, with a hunger to create lasting experiences.

Ryan Turner, Lead Instructor

Ryan Turner

Ryan has over a decade of teaching experience and has taught thousands of lessons in both the public and private sector. He most recently owned and operated his own golf academy in Camarillo, California. Ryan was a high school standout at Ventura High School where he played varsity golf all 4 years, racking up 17 individual tournament wins and making 1st team all CIF in his junior and senior year. He then went on to play golf for the Ventura College Pirates under coach and former PGA player Bob E. Smith. He made 1st team all western state conference, received the coaches award, and brought his team to a 3rd place finish at the state championships. Ryan then played one year of golf at the University of Redlands where the Bulldogs had a historic undefeated season, winning the conference championship and finishing 5th at the national championships. Ryan received the honor of being named a Ping All American, 1st team all SCIAC, and 1st team Ping west region.

He graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Ryan still keeps his game at a high level and loves to compete. He has a passion for helping golfers not only build their swings, but also build their mental game to become champions.

Played in a charity event at Calabasas. The course is in really good shape, especially the greens, considering the drought.
